Our recent full kitchen renovation at a beautiful cottage in the heart of the Cotswold countryside was no exception. The Vision
The client wanted a kitchen that retained the rustic warmth of the cottage while incorporating contemporary functionality. The existing kitchen layout was cramped lacked storage and had inefficient lighting. Our goal was to create a spacious bright and practical area for cooking and entertaining.
The Process
The transformation began with a complete strip-out of the old kitchen, including the removal of outdated cabinetry, inefficient plumbing, and old flooring. Our team then focused on the structural integrity of the space, installing steel beams where necessary to open up the layout. We also adjusted electrical wiring, ensuring the new kitchen would have optimal lighting and power sources for modern appliances.
Next came the plumbing, with upgraded piping and improved water flow to accommodate a new sink and appliances. High-quality oak worktops were installed, providing both durability and a natural aesthetic that complemented the cottage’s original features. Custom-built cupboards and shelving units were carefully crafted to maximise storage while maintaining the cottage’s cosy charm
Finishing Touches
Once the core structure was in place, we focused on the finer details. The kitchen was fitted with stylish cabinetry, soft-close doors, and period-appropriate fixtures that maintained the cottage’s traditional appeal. The flooring was updated with high-quality materials to ensure longevity, and the walls received a fresh coat of paint in soft, neutral tones to enhance the natural light.
Additional touches included custom-built storage solutions, decorative beams, and the installation of high-performance kitchen appliances that blend seamlessly with the aesthetic. Attention was also given to ventilation and insulation to create a comfortable and energy-efficient cooking environment.
